Cameroon's incredible diversity means you can climb volcanoes, go on a safari, and relax on beautiful beaches all in one trip. Here are three major attractions you absolutely must visit.

Mount Cameroon 🌋

Why it's important: Also known as "Mongo ma Ndemi" (Mountain of Greatness), it is the highest mountain in West Africa and a massive active volcano! Hiking to the crater offers an unforgettable adventure through varied climate zones.

Entry cost: Around 5000 FCFA (about $11 CAD) for basic park access.

Hours of operation: Open all day, but hikers must be accompanied by an official local guide.

Dress code: Serious hiking clothes, strong boots, and a warm, windproof jacket because temperatures drop significantly near the summit.

Waza National Park 🐘

Why it's important: Founded in 1934, it is one of the most famous wildlife reserves in West Africa. It's an incredible place to go on a safari and see herds of elephants, lions, giraffes, and ostriches in their natural habitat.

Entry cost: Around 5000 FCFA for international tourists.

Hours of operation: Usually open from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The best time to visit is during the dry season.

Dress code: Light, breathable clothes, a wide-brimmed sun hat, sunglasses, and plenty of sunscreen to protect against the savanna heat.

Limbe Wildlife Centre 🦍

Why it's important: This world-renowned conservation center rescues and rehabilitates orphaned and injured primates. By visiting, you directly support the protection of endangered species like gorillas, chimpanzees, and mandrills.

Entry cost: Around 2000 FCFA (about $4 CAD). Donations are also highly encouraged.

Hours of operation: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM every day.

Dress code: Casual, comfortable clothing suitable for walking through lush nature trails.
